Receive up to a 30% tax
credit for the purchase of an eligible door.
Please note - credit applies to
product cost ONLY. Does not apply to installation costs, painting,
additional materials, or sales tax.
What is a tax credit?
- the tax credit amount will be added to your refund from the
federal government upon preparing your taxes next April. If you
owe money to the government the credit will be subtracted from that
amount. For example, if your eligible door cost is $300 you will
be able to subtract $90 from the total amount you owe or add $90 to your
tax refund.
Each household will be
eligible to receive a maximum of $1,500 total across all eligible
improvements throughout the 2009/2010 calendar years.
As part of the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, homeowners are now eligible
for a 30% tax credit up to $1,500 dollars if they purchase a
qualifying entry door.
How do I get
the credit?
-
Purchase and install a
qualified product from 1/1/2009 to 12/31/2010.
-
Save the sales
receipt, NFRC performance label that is attached to the door, and
documentation from the manufacturer that shows that your door is
eligible.
-
Claim the tax credit
when you file your 2009 or 2010 taxes as directed by the IRS.
Which products
qualify?
The Details
-

the product only and does not cover installation costs or sales
tax.
